Susan Chertkow is an artist and writer. She has exhibited her paintings in Chicago and the Midwest. Snippets from her Cabaret Singer Series appear in this blog. Susan was born and brought up in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Roosevelt University and studied English at Northwestern University. She and her late husband Glenn, a lawyer, have two children and two grandchildren.
Susan’s prose and poems have been published in the Chicago Tribune, The Wilmette Life, Funny Times, and Defenestration. Her poems were awarded first prize in the literary journal, The Review. She is also the author of the novel, The Gnome and Mrs. Meyers, an urban fairy tale. Scrabble is one of her favourite hobbies and she has participated in several Scrabble tournaments.
